The local security board reports the positive results of the reinforcement actions in the Carmen district (03/10/2018)

The local security desk of Las Torres de Cotillas met on Wednesday, October 3 to analyze, as the only point of the day, the reinforcement actions that have been taking place for three weeks in the neighborhood of Carmen Township.

"On the one hand, the presence of local police and Civil Guard troops has been reinforced, tripling the number of patrols, carrying out joint controls and including the daily identification of people and vehicles in the neighborhood," the mayor informs. , Isabel María Zapata, who has chaired the meeting and highlighted the positive results that have been transferred to her.

In addition, soon will proceed to the placement of security cameras in the IES 'La Florida' to control the environment, after the recent approval received by the City Council from the Government delegation.

"The police presence at the entrance and exit of the IES 'La Florida' has also been reinforced," points out the councilor for Public Safety, Pedro José Noguera, also present with the secretary general of the government delegation, Francisco Jiménez, and the lieutenant. of the Civil Guard, Alejandro Gómez.

Against squats

"In the problem of squats the City Council is making arrangements to contact the owners of the houses, which are responsible for putting in place the necessary mechanisms for their eviction," says Zapata, who notes that "many houses are owned of banking entities and that process is more difficult ".

In addition, from the municipal service of Social Services a program has been launched in which once a week assistance is being provided in the neighborhood center of the Carmen neighborhood.

"A social worker, a youth technician and a counselor of the Youth Guarantee program go every Monday to offer service to the residents of Carmen," explains Zapata, who on Monday, October 1, met with the new board of directors of the neighborhood association to communicate all these actions.

Investment of 800,000 euros

Zapata also wanted to remember that the Carmen neighborhood will receive an investment injection of 800,000 euros thanks to the Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) 'Las Torres Conecta' of the Torreño City Council.

"They will be allocated to a plan for urban regeneration and social and labor integration, in addition to the construction of a neighborhood center," explains Zapata.

An initiative that has a grant of 5 million euros granted by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to which 1,250,000 euros of municipal funds will be added.
