The neighborhood of La Florida de Las Torres de Cotillas is these days enjoying the festivities in honor of its patron saint, the Virgen del Pilar.
Some festivities that began last Thursday, October 11 with the opening of parties by José Francisco and Mª Inés Sarabia (22 hours), in an evening that was attended by the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, and that had the gala of children's queens choice, shows and raffles.
Yesterday, Friday, October 12, the day of the patron saint, a mass was celebrated at noon in her honor with an offering of flowers and food, the blessing of those born this year and the musical accompaniment of the 'El Molinico' club in Alguazas.
Later there was a local aperitif at the door of the Hermitage, while in the afternoon the neighborhood center hosted a bingo and at night came to the sports courts the 'Night of the Barbecue', with meat and beer in charge of the commission.
To close the day, the performances of 'The Rumberos de La Florida' and 'La Nueva Juventud' took place, as well as several raffles.
The party continues Today's activities on Saturday, October 13, began with a tribute to Antonio Sarabia, a neighbor of the recently deceased neighborhood.
To remember it, a bicycle ride was celebrated in which the participants decorated their bicycles and disguised themselves.
In the afternoon, the children's games will arrive at the sports courts (5:30 pm) with 'Brodguay Performing Arts' (pintacaras, handicrafts, animation ...), where there will also be a snack.
The night will also be moved on the sports courts, with two great dates: the 'Night of the Migas' (21:30 hours) and the musical performance and show of the great showman José Damián (22:30 hours).
To close the festivities, on Sunday, October 14, a very complete day was planned.
At 10:30 a pilgrimage will depart from the Hermitage to the Church of Our Lady of Salceda, where at 12 o'clock a mass will be celebrated.
Later, the park next to the festival grounds will be the scene of an aperitif (14'15 hours) and the neighborhood center of a bingo (15'30 hours).
As a finishing touch, at 8:30 p.m., the image of the patron saint will begin in procession through the streets of the neighborhood, at the end of which a large fireworks castle will be launched.
