The Christmas release of flying lanterns from Las Torres de Cotillas, and a whole tradition in the municipality, will be this year for the benefit of the Associations of Mothers and Parents of Students (AMPAs) of the town.
The event will take place next Sunday, December 23 (18 hours) in Adolfo Suarez Square, organized by the Department of Celebrations and with the collaboration of the women's association 'Isabel González'.
"The sale of tickets will be made entirely through the AMPAs in each of their educational centers and as every year these will be exchanged for lanterns on the day of the event", explains the Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, who this morning has gathered together with the mayor of Celebrations, Amalia Perez, to reach this agreement with the representatives of these associations in the schools of Infant and Primary of the municipality, in addition to the two institutes of Secondary.
"100% of the collection of this beautiful and endearing event, which will sell 3,000 lanterns at a price of 3 euros, will benefit the different associations of parents who wish to collaborate with the event", confirms Pérez .
Double objective
"With this event we are looking for two objectives: on the one hand, to promote a Christmas celebration that has been taking place for five years in Las Torres de Cotillas and which is increasingly accepted, and, on the other hand, that the collection always benefits the children and girls of the municipality, "highlights the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
