The procession of the Risen One beats the rain and shines through the Torrena streets (21/04/2019)

Everyone looked at the sky today in the early hours of the morning at Las Torres de Cotillas, suspicious that the rain could prevent the expected procession of the Risen One from leaving.

But finally the water has given truce and the parade has made the delights of torreños and torreñas that had been disillusioned by the suspension due to the bad weather of the two processions of Good Friday, Calvary and the Holy Entombment of Christ.

The only difference compared to other years has been the decision of the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías to shorten its itinerary to avoid problems with the rain.

So, this year the parade has traveled the Calle Mayor, Reyes Católicos Avenue, Campo and Mula streets, to return again for the Calle Mayor.

The traditional Meeting

A procession on Easter Sunday, which, as usual, has begun in the church of Our Lady of Salceda and has lived at the beginning of the Encounter of the images of the Most Holy Risen Christ, Saint John the Evangelist and the Virgin of Victory.

A large crowd of spectators has enjoyed this traditional and spectacular appointment, in which the sides of these thrones have danced the images and in which their popular 'caramelada' has not been lacking.

As every year, the spectators have also seen procession in addition to the images of the Victorious Angel, the Appearance of Jesus to Mary Magdalene, Our Lord Jesus Christ Risen, Saint John and the Virgin of Beautiful Love.

In addition, two children's thrones have also participated: the Child Jesus and the Cross.
