The project "Get up and running! Get involved! Vega Media del Segura" 2018-19 delivered the diplomas to its participants at Las Torres de Cotillas Town Hall on Monday morning, May 6.
This initiative has involved a total of 106 people, of which 27 are from Las Torres de Cotillas, and its objective was to improve the employability of people over 30 who are in a situation of social difficulty, residents in the region of La Vega Media (Alguazas, Lorquí, Ceutí and Las Torres de Cotillas) and Campos del Río.
This act was chaired by the mayor of Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, the mayor of Alguazas, Blas Angel Ruipérez, the general co-director of the association Columbares, Concepción Campillo, and the councilor for Social Services, María Dolores Sánchez.
This project is financed by the European Social Fund, within the framework of the Operational Program 2014-2020, and by the Regional Government, with the collaboration of the City of Las Torres de Cotillas and the association of Columbares.
Pre-labor training
The participants have carried out pre-labor training activities, occupational training with professional practices and career guidance.
Thus, 69 people have carried out workshops to improve their social skills, of which 17 students belong to Las Torres de Cotillas.
On the other hand, 14 people have obtained a banquet waiter diploma, of which 2 are from Las Torres de Cotillas.
In addition, 14 students have participated in occupational training, which has been a course of cleaning surfaces and furniture in buildings and premises of 230 hours (150 theoretical and 80 practices in companies), with level 1 certification approved by the SEF.
"It is noteworthy that 11 people have obtained a work contract throughout the program," highlights Zapata.
