The patron celebrations of La Media Legua of Las Torres de Cotillas, with which every year their neighbors pay tribute to San Francisco de Asís, concluded on Sunday night October 6 with the traditional procession of the patron.
A parade that started from the hermitage and that had the participation of numerous neighbors and the local music band, as well as members of the municipal corporation, with Mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández at the helm.
At its conclusion, a large fireworks castle ended the celebrations, in which the Department of Neighborhoods and Pedanías collaborated.
One last day that had begun at noon with a mass in honor of San Francisco, and in the afternoon to propose some fun tape races as a preamble to the procession.
Weekend moved
A very busy weekend in which the traditional night of dances and performances of the children of the neighborhood was held on Friday, October 4, in an evening in which the party continued with a mobile disco until the wee hours of the morning .
The traditional parade of floats took place on the afternoon of Saturday, October 5, a long-awaited event in which the neighbors showed once more their imagination and their desire to have a good time.
Already at night Juanjo the hairdresser directed the play We were few and now more, prelude to the musical performance of the duo Ella and Him.
Many activities
The festivities began on Saturday, September 28 with three activities: a bicicross circuit, the singles soccer match against married and the putting of papers and flags among all the neighbors.
On Sunday, September 29, the inhabitants of La Media Legua torreña enjoyed a day of coexistence in the Hermitage, with food - the commission put the rice and meat to make paellas -, children's activities, bingo ... On Wednesday, October 2 the protagonists were the smallest, for whom the cultural association Media Legua organized various activities: gymkana, drawings, etc.
And at night the pilgrimage took place in honor of San Francisco de Asís.
In addition, on Thursday, October 3, he offered a children's tournament organized by the cultural association Media Legua and the Night of Migas, enlivened with the music of the Sound Duo.
