The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas already welcomes the Maestro Jesús Ferrer school.

And since Thursday, November 28, this center, formerly called El Parque, receives the name of one of its teachers for many years.

A decision unanimously approved in the municipal plenary session and that is already a reality to honor posthumously the mayor of the municipality during two legislatures (1983-87 and 1999-2003), as well as regional government advisor at the beginning of the years 80.

Ferrer, who died on January 24, 2016 in a tragic accident, has been remembered in an emotional official act chaired by the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.

A very busy date in which classmates, students of the school, representatives of the educational community of the whole municipality, members of the government team, family, friends, neighbors ... different speeches have remembered his figure, such as the first mayor , of the director of the center itself, of a representative of former students and even of the oldest daughter of the honoree.

In addition, the poet José Martínez, the 'Lali', has put his grain of sand before Ferrer's family discovered the new school plate with his name.

An act that has concluded with the planting of a tree for the garden of the center by the widow and the eldest daughter of the honoree, who have been helped by the caretaker of this green space, the 'grandfather Pepe'.

The motion for this name change, which was promoted by his colleagues in the center and presented jointly by all political groups, acknowledges the considerable contribution of Ferrer's teaching work to the educational community.

A teacher who conveyed important values ​​to his students and his firm and determined support for the promotion and promotion of all cultural, sports, social, solidarity and leisure events that take place in these centers.

In addition, the paper also highlights that Ferrer was a lover of nature and animals, a tireless worker, with dialogue by flag and determination to achieve objectives, aspects that marked his life in all its facets.
