The Council of Equality of Las Torres de Cotillas has concluded this weekend the events scheduled to celebrate in the municipality on March 8, International Day for Women's Rights and World Peace.

Yesterday, Saturday, March 11, the Asociación de Mujeres Senegalesas Torreñas (AMSET) joined in this celebration by organizing the second edition of their days, which took place in the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna'.

The reception to the participants, a talk 'Masculinities and the Commitment to Equality' by the president of AHIGE Murcia and a Gastronomic tasting, among the most outstanding activities proposed.

"It was a great and enriching experience, organized by this group that is very integrated into the social and cultural life of our municipality," said Equality Councilor, María Dolores Sánchez, who attended this event.

And to close this program today Sunday, March 12, a journey of coexistence was celebrated to Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz, in which the association of women 'Isabel González' collaborated.

The expedition, which has traveled by bus to this area of ​​the Northwest, has enjoyed - among other activities - guided tours in both municipalities, a wine tasting in Cehegín and food in Caravaca.

A great start

Some events to celebrate on March 8 that began in Las Torres de Cotillas on Thursday March 2 acts with the 'II Meeting of Women Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs', held in the Women's Nursery for Women.

This activity had the collaboration of the Center for Assistance to Women Victims of Gender Violence in Las Torres de Cotillas (CAVI) and was addressed to the staff of the administration and political positions.

Double proposal

On Wednesday, March 8, when the International Day for the Rights of Women and World Peace was celebrated every year, there was a double proposal.

The event, which took place in the Municipal Pavilion, was sponsored again by the national deputy Ascensión Carreño and counted with the presence of the mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, and his Equality Councilor, María Dolores Sánchez.

The tournament, in which the result was the least, recorded a large influx of public and participated in the teams of local clubs '20 Copas', 'Potemos' and' Los Páharos'.

In addition to the sporting spectacle, the attendees - who paid their corresponding solidarity entry - enjoyed several drawings and artistic performances of the ballet of Victor Campos, Kimera and the Association of Senegalese Women Torreñas (AMSET).
