A 'Doll House' arrived from Salobreña, third work of the VI National Contest of Amateur Theater Juan Baño 'torreño (20/10/2017)

The 'VI National Contest of Amateur Theater Juan Baños' of Las Torres de Cotillas has already passed its equator and tomorrow Saturday 21 October (21 hours) receives the third of his four works to contest.

It will be in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' and the protagonism will fall on the actors of the Granadino group 'Taller municipal de teatro de Salobreña', which will represent the play 'Casa de muñecas'.

A dramatic piece of the nineteenth century that strongly criticizes the marriage rules of the time and is considered by many critics as the first feminist play.

This theatrical competition for amateur groups from all over Spain takes place between October and November, and is organized once more by the Department of Culture and the amateur theater group 'Tejuba' Torreño.

"All the works in competition will have a ticket of 3 euros," said Councilor for Culture, Pedro Cabrera, who points out that the contest will distribute nearly 2,000 euros in prizes.

More works to contest

The group 'Taules Teatre' (Pinoso) was in charge of opening on Saturday October 7 the contest with the play 'El eunuco', a comedy by the Roman playwright Terencio, freely versioned to create a fun proposal with dialogues current, casual, gamberra and very funny.

A representation that counted on a remarkable attendance of public, that returned with laughter and applause the action of the Alicante actors.

The company 'Cinétika' (Mutxamel) represented on Saturday October 14 'Bizarre Game', the second work to contest.

The spectators were able to delight in an exciting plot directed by Matilde Albert and Marco Gosálvez: three strangers are locked in a hut far from civilization and each of them knows the reason why it is there, but not the other two.

An anonymous note with a Latin phrase will be the only clue they will have to understand what is happening.

To close the works for the contest on Saturday, October 28, the 'Theater Company Under Construction' (Elche) will represent 'Seven screams in the sea'.

A story that takes place on a transatlantic bound for South America, where eight first class passengers are invited to enjoy the Christmas Eve dinner at the captain's table.

He will reveal to you a fact that will change the destiny of their lives and that will allow us to see what they really are, with their miseries, their guilt and their truth.

The closing of the contest will take place on Saturday 11 November with the awards ceremony, in an evening that will have free admission and with the representation out of competition by the 'Tejuba' of the work 'Go down to the moro.

Prizes that amount to about 2,000 euros and will be distributed as follows: 1,000 euros and trophy for the best show;

200 euros and trofeorespectively for the best actor and actress;

100 euros and trophy for the best address;
