The Archaeological Museum of Murcia says goodbye to the year with the carols and aguilandos of the Cotillas Towers (28/12/2017)

During the next week will continue to develop children's workshops in regional museums

The Assembly Hall of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia (MAM) hosts tomorrow, December 29 at 20:00 hours, the concert 'Giving the bells in the museum', included in the Christmas program of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Environment for regional spaces.

The recital will be given by the 'Rincón Pulpitero' squad of Las Torres de Cotillas, whose members will perform a wide selection of traditional carols and aguilandos, using instruments such as the guitar, the lute, the bandurria, the violin, the guitar, the reed and the tambourine.

The assistance to this activity, organized with the collaboration of the Association of Friends of the Archaeological Museum and Santa Clara (Asamac) is free until full capacity is reached.

La rondalla del 'Rincón Pulpitero' was born in 1992, in the Towers of Cotillas, by the hand of a group of passionate about music and traditional instruments.

At present it has an extensive repertoire that ranges from the most typical parrandas, seguidillas and pardicas, characteristics of the most rural areas, to the jotas, fandangos and malagueñas most representative of the Region of Murcia, as well as the part dedicated to Christmas, with carols and aguilandos that tomorrow will sound at the MAM.

Drawing contest and workshops

The concert of tomorrow is one of the special activities programmed this Christmas in the regional museums, where numerous guided visits and children's workshops are being organized and where this morning also took place, specifically in the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia, the XIII Contest of Drawing 'Pinta la Navidad', which yesterday was held at the Regional Museum of Modern Art in Cartagena.

This year, 75 children have participated in this activity that seeks to encourage the creativity of the youngest, inviting children between 3 and 12 years to make a free drawing that has Christmas as its central theme.

The winners, who will take home educational and recreational material related to painting, will be known next week and the works will remain on display at both museums tomorrow.

All the activities organized for these weeks in the spaces of the Ministry of Culture can be found on the website www.museosregiondemurcia.es.

Among the planned activities there is a r for the children to make a wish tree for next year (tomorrow, December 29, in the MAM) and an activity to follow the trail that has left in the Mubam the camel of the King Melchor, who has been lost among its rooms (December 29 and January 5).

Other workshops for which it is still possible to register are those of 'Book Christmas!', At the Mubam on January 3, and that of 'The Sweetest Kings', focused on the magicians of the East and which will take place at the Santa Clara Museum in Murcia on 3 and 4 January.

Finally, at the Regional Museum of Modern Art in Cartagena (3, 4 and 6 January), the children's visit-workshop 'Feeling Christmas' will help the little ones to know the traditions and make their own Christmas ornament or gift.
