The Community allocates more than 160,000 euros to the Works and Services Plan for 2017 of Las Torres de Cotillas, whose works were visited today by the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, together with the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Isabel María Zapata.
Specifically, it is the remodeling of sidewalks and provision of parking on Antón Tóbalo street and other actions.
A total of 169,241 euros are earmarked for the project, of which 160,779 euros are provided by the Community and 8,462 euros by the City Council.
Andrés Carrillo stressed that the purpose of the project is to act in several areas with deficits in urban infrastructure, according to the needs expressed by the residents of the municipality, through participatory processes, and by the personnel who carry out the inspection of public roads.
"With this Plan we aim to reduce this deficit in infrastructure and basic equipment that may suffer the municipalities of the region with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants."
The project will address the remodeling of sidewalks, the provision of parking on various streets of the municipality and new signaling, among other actions.
It includes the demolition of the curb of existing sidewalks, then implementing a supply network of ductile cast iron in substitution of the existing one, replacing in turn the household connections of the scope of action.
Then the new curbs will be made, incorporating new parking areas in the area where the width allows it, paving both the sidewalk and the parking with precast concrete blocks of eight centimeters thick.
There will also be an integral action of both horizontal and vertical signaling.
This achieves an ordering of the traffic of the whole area in such a way that a minimum affection is produced to the neighbors of the environment and the objectives pursued are achieved.
Finally, it includes the opening of the street in the extension of Quipar River with the demolition of the existing sidewalks and with the cajeado of the area to implement the appropriate fillings to pave both the sidewalks and the road.
The installation of a street lighting line on one of the sidewalks will also be carried out with the placement of three streetlamps, as well as access to the adjacent park.
To this project of the Plan of Works and Service of 2017 must be added two that have already completed the plan of 2016, which consisted of the adequacy of the sign of the Avenue of Work with an investment of 142,914 euros.
In addition, Carrillo stressed that the Works and Services Plan will be biennial from this exercise, "so that municipalities can execute larger works, since they will have more funding and more time for its execution."
It is expected that the various projects of the plan for the 2018/2019 biennium in the municipality will reach 321,558 euros of investment.
Works in 41 municipalities
The Works and Services Plan for 2018/2019 will reach the 41 municipalities of the Region of less than 50,000 inhabitants.
This initiative includes more than 7.8 million euros, of which 6 are borne by the Autonomous Community.
Among the main actions include works such as improvement in streets and sidewalks, renovation of public lighting, works in parks, replacement of services and works in municipal facilities.
