Las Torres de Cotillas commemorates its 700th anniversary as a municipality next September and the local City Council is already working to celebrate this remarkable date.
Last Friday, April 6, Culture Councilor Pedro Cabrera presented the Minister of Culture Javier Celdrán with the proposed activities for this celebration, which is being coordinated by the official columnist of the town, Ricardo Montes, whose program is still to be closed.
"We have asked the regional government to collaborate on our project and the counselor has been especially willing to lend us a hand, he is going to value the ideas we have presented to him and has called us to a prompt response," says Cabrera.
With the slogan '1318-2018, from Qutiyyas to Las Torres de Cotillas', this initiative has proposed various cultural proposals, such as conferences and publications on local history, twinnings, concerts, exhibitions of Torreño artists ... "We are very excited about this project, because it is a very important date that speaks of the maturity and the long history of our town, and we want to make a celebration worthy of this anniversary ", explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata.
