The tracks of the Municipal Sports hosted Cotillas Towers on the morning of Sunday 16 December the "I Paddle Tournament Christmas" Township, championship organized by the "Sports Center Towers" in collaboration with the Department of Local Sports .
The couples participants split into two groups and from early morning developed a league that gave way to a semifinal between the first two pairs of each group.
Finally, the winners were Antonio Martínez and Ginés Pérez, followed by Carlos Abril and Javier Marin.
Meanwhile, the bronze went to José Manuel Villa and Jose Ignacio Marín, and the fourth for Bath and Emilio Francisco Nieto.
These four couples were awarded their trophies and sports equipment.
This tournament had a great turnout, which shows the wide acceptance of the sport enjoys in the municipality.
In fact, the local league in its second edition has already registered 86 players, divided into three categories.
"The paddle is undoubtedly the new trend sport and more and more followers, continues to grow by leaps and bounds and the proof is that more and more tracks in the region," said the Councillor for Sports, Ginés Pérez Iniesta , who notes that "sport is easy to learn, which makes enjoying the game suddenly causing a very strong sense of engagement."
