The Civil Protection Corps Cotillas Towers was awarded on 14 December in the town of Cehegín with a replica of the Silver Cross of the Civil Order of Social Solidarity, a recognition granted by Her Majesty Queen Sofia of the work following the earthquake in Lorca past 2011.
This event was part of the "VIII Conference on Civil Protection Volunteers of the Murcia Region" held in the town of Murcia until the 16th of this month and it was inaugurated by the Minister of the Presidency of the regional government, Manuel Campos, the Emergency CEO, Luis Gestoso, and local authorities.
This recognition was also given to other groups that helped civil protection in disaster lorquino Township, was collected for clustering Torrena by its coordinator, Manuel Fernandez.
This award is a replica of granted in May 2011 by the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality in a ceremony presided over by Her Majesty the Queen, in recognition of the work done by health professionals and emergency services the Murcia region of Lorca during earthquakes.
Almost a month of work
In the work after the tragic event, the group performed Civil Protection Torrena logistics, working professionally in organizing the reception, storage and distribution of food and other basic necessities to people in the camp that housed more duration had.
"The staff of our group joined this work on May 24 and retired from the logistics base of Santa Quiteria on June 20," says Fernandez, who states that participated "20 volunteers with an average of 12 hours daily ".
