Agents of the National Police and Civil Guard have conducted a joint operation against drug trafficking has allowed dismantle a criminal group based in Murcia and in the town of Las Torres de Cotillas.
The investigation began during the month of April, when it got to determine the existence of a group based in the aforementioned locations and composed of Spanish and Colombian citizens.
Although the beginning of the research was conducted independently and almost simultaneously by both bodies, coordination mechanisms were able to detect this overlap on the target and the necessary means to carry out a joint investigation that would optimize the progress of both bodies.
This facilitated rapid progress in research, achieving identify all those responsible for the facts and find the addresses used to their activities
During the second week of July increased activity detected by the investigation, which led researchers to strengthen the monitoring devices.
In this context, on July 15th intercepted a vehicle driven by one of the members of the group.
In the interior of this vehicle is found 500 grams of cocaine hidden in a false bottom.
Subsequently conducted four registers at the addresses used by the investigation.
In two of these homes, located in the towns of Las Torres de Cotillas and Nonduermas, they found two laboratories equipped for processing drugs and substances provided for adulteration and others such as sulfuric acid or acetone.
Alongside this were operated presses, molds, scales and instruments commonly used for processing, adulteration and drug packaging.
The operation has resulted in the arrest of two Spanish citizens and four Colombians.
Alongside the aforementioned effects, have seized five vehicles and a motorcycle, and accounting documentation of the sale of narcotics.
The modus operandi of the group, which is considered fully dismantled, was the acquisition of items of high quality drugs that were later doctored in order to obtain better economic performance.
During the investigation it was found that the group applied security procedures in place to detect possible advanced policing such as the courses or surveillance of access to places of storage or process the drug.
All were arrested and brought to justice
The research has been developed jointly by the Drug Unit and Organized Crime National Police in Murcia and the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police and Public Safety Units dog expert service of the headquarters of the Guardia Civil de Murcia.
