Over 200 players from 7 clubs in the Region of Murcia played on Saturday March 7th championship rugby schools promoted by the Federation of Rugby of the Region of Murcia (FERRMUR) and XV Rugby Murcia.
Held at the municipal natural grass field Cotillas Towers, in this meeting players from the following clubs participated: CR Totana, CRUC, CR Lorca, XV Rugby Murcia, CURM and Alhama, besides the host team.
"We are very pleased to have participated in organizing this tournament for the second consecutive year," said Councilman Local Sports, Ginés Pérez Iniesta, who recalls that "the championship was scheduled for Jan. 31, but was postponed due to bad weather ".
This sporting event was divided into the following categories: Children below 16 years (born in 1999 and 2000), juvenile sub -14 (2001 and 2002), youngest sub-12 (2003 and 2004) and pre-baby U10 (2005 and 2006).
"It's a tournament that lacks competitive spirit, since what matters is that the kids involved so as to promote the sport from an early age and promote rugby in particular," said the mayor, showing his pride because "the name of Las Torres Cotillas begins to have an important role in this discipline.
