Cotillas Towers opens the first track Padbol of Murcia (08/02/2016)

The City of Las Torres de Cotillas has opened on the morning of Monday 8 February the first track Padbol of Murcia.

Located in the sports center in this facility users can enjoy this new team sport that involves the fusion of football and paddle.

"The appearance of the track is very similar to the paddle, but on a smaller scale," said Torreño mayor, Domingo Coronado, who chaired the event along with Councilman Athletics and exercise, Ginés Pérez.

"Simple rules of the sport, its dynamism, the variability of the rebounds and that is not necessary a great soccer skills make the Padbol a modern and fun sport," says the mayor.

This court is 10 meters long and 6 meters wide, transversely divided by a network and has both the sides and funds with walls that serve to prolong the passage of the ball on the track.

A presentation which was also attended by the president of the Futsal Federation of the Region of Murcia, Luciano Herrero, or former players like Paulo Roberto and Angel Perez Garcia, and ended with a practice match in which athletes have participated torreños .

A young sport

The Padbol was developed in the city of La Plata (Argentina) in 2008 and today is present in over 15 countries.

In 2013 the first World Cup, which established itself as the global Spanish couple formed by Eleazar Ocaña and Toni Palacios champions took place.
