The new Early Intervention Center Towers will serve 40 children Cotillas (13/11/2008)

Cotillas Towers from today has an Early Childhood Centre (CAT), inaugurated this afternoon by the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana.

For this project, with capacity for 40 children, the Community has provided 214,389 euros, 90 percent of the 236,139 euros that has cost the work.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the director general of People with Disabilities of the IMAS, Marisol Morente, the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, and members of the Municipal Corporation as well as relatives of children who need this kind of therapeutic care .

The center has a floor space of 141 square meters, a reception and waiting room, three classrooms, (Speech, Individual Treatment and psychomotor and physical therapy) and two distributors, as well as toilets and storage.

The specialized staff is composed of a psychologist, a physiotherapist and a speech therapist.

Has capacity for 40 children with their families, from zero to six years, with disabilities or developmental disturbances or high risk.

Among its objectives are to reduce the effects of a deficiency or deficit on the overall package of child development, optimize the course of its development; introduce compensation mechanisms, removing barriers and adapting to specific needs and avoid or reduce the appearance of defects associated with or caused by a disorder or high risk.

Currently operating in the region, funded 26 centers and Early Childhood Development, serving 2,423 users.

Of these, 13 belong to councils, one to the Mula River Commonwealth, and 12 different NGOs Fadis integrated, and FASEN FEAPS.

The contribution of the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration for this year amounts to EUR 3,508,306.40.
