The seventh edition of the 'Juan Baños National Amateur Theater Competition' of Las Torres de Cotillas has its registration deadline open until June 5.

Convened by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the local theater group 'Tejuba', will be held between October and November this year at the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna'.

Their prizes will amount to nearly 2,000 euros and will be distributed as follows: 1,000 euros and trophy for the best show;

200 euros and trophy for the best actor and actress respectively;

100 euros and trophy to the best address;

and 100 euros and trophy respectively for the best actress and supporting actor.

"Among all the applications, the selection committee will choose from among the applicant groups a total of four participating groups, plus two reservations," explains Mayor Isabel María Zapata.

"All the works to contest will be represented on Saturdays in October, at 9 pm, with an entrance fee of 3 euros," says the Councilor for Culture Pedro Cabrera.

The closing of the contest will take place on Saturday November 10 with the awards ceremony, in an evening that will have free admission and a representation outside of the 'Tejuba' contest.
