The City of Las Torres de Cotillas continues with its investment policy in the municipality after the complete elimination of the municipal debt at the end of last year.
"We are giving back to our neighbors the effort they made in the worst times of the crisis," says Mayor Isabel María Zapata, who recalls that this exercise was approved a reduction in taxes that will reduce tax collection by 500,000 euros.
Thus, the next start in investments in the town will be 600,000 euros -with a charge to the remaining treasury of 2017, which was about 2.5 million euros- and will focus on two main actions: a plan for urban renewal and improvements for local security bodies.
"In addition, we will improve the efficiency of public buildings and build a kiosk in the municipal sports center," Zapata said.
Urban renewal
The urban renewal plan will have a budget of more than 415,000 euros and will be divided into several actions.
On the one hand, the road will be reinforced in several streets (Sagunto, Madrid, Fernandez Vera, San Antonio, Moreras, Condomina, Juan Carlos Avenue, Quevedo, Valle Inclan, Campo Abajo, Mula, Ricardo Montes and the Mediterranean Sea / Aegean ) to improve road traffic.
On the other hand, the infrastructures will be renewed in Narciso Yepes Street, between Bolivian and Velázquez Streets, and in Ángel Molina Street.
"There will also be hydrofoil to improve adherence in various roads and several roads will be repaired neighborhood," says Councilor for Maintenance of the City Immaculate Fernandez, which indicates that they will also renovate sidewalks on Juan Carlos I Avenue and sign in another group of streets (Rioja, Catalonia, Andalusia, Asturias).
Security improvements
As for the improvements of the security forces, the main novelty will be the incorporation of new vehicles for their service in the municipality.
"They are going to buy two cars for the Local Police and another for Civil Protection", informs the councilor of Police and Civil Protection Pedro José Noguera, who also announces that a drone will be acquired for this last body.
