The sports activities of the European project 'Do-U-Sport' come to an end in Las Torres de Cotillas.
The twelfth proposal of this program will be a day of water games that will take place next Sunday, July 1 from 10 am to 1 pm at the pools of the 'State Sport Group Las Torres'.
"It will be a proposal to show the healthy benefits of exercise in the water and will again have free assistance," explains Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, whose area coordinates this activity again.
The inscriptions can be formalized in the offices of the municipal sports center or in the place of the activity the same day, in a day in which the use of a cap will be obligatory.
"In this project we collaborate with the municipalities of Tábua (Portugal) and Mielec (Poland)," informs the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who recalls that eleven days have previously been held: bioenergetic movement, kite flight, multi-adventure, of dance, of sports on wheels and of racket, of sport in the street, of hiking and an urban gymkhana.
European project
The European project 'Do-U-Sport' is part of the 'Erasmus +' program and its main objective is to explore the role of local authorities in the promotion of sport as an activity for all, free of barriers.
In this proposal, which began in January 2017 and will last until next December, the Torreño Consistory has a budget of almost 31,500 euros of which are subsidized by almost 75% by the European Commission.
"Consolidating the role of local authorities in promoting sports for all, increasing the number of people and organizations involved in sports activities at the local level or promoting a deeper understanding of how sports are seen and experienced in the municipalities are other of the objectives of this project that is already underway ", explains the mayor.
