Álvaro Sánchez, Torreño student of Architecture and Building of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), has won the 'XXVIII Iberian Pladur Systems Competition'.
A contest that this year raised the challenge of revitalizing the architectural heritage of the Sugar Factory of Granada as a recreational space converted into a large escape room.
Sánchez, a fourth-year student, won alongside Daniel Nicolás from Alhama in this contest in which 500 students from 27 Spanish and Portuguese universities participated.
With his proposal, entitled 'Escape del olvido', Torreño and his partner won the first prize of -valued at 6,000 euros- ahead of students from universities in Seville and Malaga.
The UPCT students captured in spectacular virtual images, with great creativity and technical skill, the constructive solutions designed to create an 'escape room' game in the old factory in Granada.
