"Actions in several streets and the construction of a kiosk in the municipal sports center, as well as the purchase of two cars and bulletproof vests for the Local Police, and a vehicle and a drone for Civil Protection, among the measures contemplated", points out Zapata, who remembers that the Works and Services Plan (POS) 2018/19 will have an investment of 339,000 euros.
In addition, a project promoted by 143,000 euros of municipal funds has been launched to achieve three objectives: improve various parks and municipal gardens;
install some canopies in the external parking of vehicles of the Local Safety Center;
and the development of a computer application (APP) to improve citizen service.
Taxes
In the tax section in this 2017 the inhabitants of Las Torres de Cotillas no longer have to pay fees for the provision of urban transport service, home help and telecare.
In addition, they benefit from other tax benefits, such as the 5% reduction in the rate table for vehicles with mechanical traction, the 'stamp of the car', with a bonus of 50% for hybrid vehicles and 75% for electric vehicles or zero emissions.

In addition, a tax of up to 50% has been established on construction, installation and construction taxes for those tasks that promote the objective creation of employment.
Other projects
Another great investment that the City of Las Torres de Cotillas has planned is 1,250,000 euros, which will be added to a grant of five million euros from the European FEDER funds to develop the Strategy for Integrated Sustainable Urban Development (EDUSI) ' Las Torres Conecta '.
A project developed from a deep process of citizen participation that will be carried out on four pillars: improving the use and quality of Information and Communication Technologies, promoting a low carbon economy, protecting the environment and promoting efficiency of resources, and social inclusion and fight against poverty.
Other initiatives of forthcoming investments in the municipality include the construction of a storm tank (5,700,000 euros) together with the WWTP, the improvement in the network of sanitation sewers (250,000 euros) and the improvement and renovation of green spaces (100,000 euros).
"We also expect the construction of a roundabout at the exit by La Media Legua, where the Ministry of Development will allocate almost 900,000 euros to respond to traffic problems in the area," stresses the councilor.
