The Torreño athlete of the UCAM Athletics Cartagena Rubén Salinas signed a great performance in the 200 meters of the absolute Spanish outdoor athletics championship played recently in Getafe.
Salinas made his personal best in the qualifying rounds, stopping the clock in 21'47 and placing it among the first 11 records of Spain.
However, he was knocked out of the final by not being able to go from sixth place in his semifinal series (21'67), in a very fast race in which Bruno Hortelano broke the Spanish record.
"I am currently planning my next season, in which I already have in mind the preparation of the Spanish indoor track and the 'European Masters Games', which will be in the Italian city of Turin in August 2019," explains the athlete Torreño, that this year has been his own coach.
"Rubén has signed a great season, with great brands and a lot of capacity for improvement", points out the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, who points out that Salinas is a key player in the first division team of the UCAM Athletics Cartagena.
