The Department of Social Services of Las Torres de Cotillas has set up again this October the activities that are developed in the intervention program with the Roma population in the municipality.
"After the summer sessions have been reinvigorated socio-educational with children, where you work with three groups of different educational stages routines and study techniques, motivation, school reinforcement, prevention of absenteeism, etc.", explains the mayor , Isabel María Zapata.
These groups take place Monday and Wednesday afternoons at the social center of Los Vicentes and on Tuesdays at the Women's Center, located in the municipal auditorium 'Juan Baño'.
"The participants are referred by the technicians of the different programs of the municipal center of Social Services", informs the mayor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez.
Other work areas
In addition to the educational area, during the development period of the program works with the areas of health, employment, equal treatment and non-discrimination, housing and social action, counting on the involvement and commitment of the Roma population in the different activities
This program, coordinated by a social educator and that will last until May 2019, is fully subsidized by the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
