The General Director of People with Disabilities and Elderly, Ana Guijarro, accompanied by the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Isabel María Zapata, visited the Center for Older People of the municipality, which is immersed in a new edition of its Cultural week'.
Both toured the center with their director, XXXXXX, and chatted with their users, who these days enjoy a wide program of activities.
A day that started with the championships of domino and chinchón, and also counted in the afternoon with the representation of the work 'The consultation of Don Melquiades' by the theater group of the center.
After that, the literacy workshop spoke about the 700th anniversary as the mayorazgo of LasTorres de Cotillas and the choir, the rondalla and the regional dance group performed as the icing on the cake.
Today, Thursday, October 25, the parchís championship has begun and at 5:00 pm the performance of the group 'Canela en rama' is scheduled.
In addition, for tomorrow, Friday, October 26, there is a darts championship (9:30 am) and a family lottery and a trophy (17 hours).
As a culmination to this new 'Cultural Week', on Sunday, October 26 (2:30 pm) there will be a convivial meal at the center to which the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, will attend as guest.
Many activities
This 'Cultural Week' began on Monday October 22 with the celebration of a mass officiated by the parish priest of the Church of Our Lady of Salceda and accompanied by the choir and rondalla of the center.
One morning it also featured a tasting of homemade cakes and sweet wine, and the dry and chess championship.
As a culmination to the afternoon session, the users of the center enjoyed the performance of the group 'Con aire de pasodoble'.
On Tuesday, October 23, the activities began with the billiard and petanque championships, while in the afternoon the artistic proposal was double: the performance of the center dance group and the group 'Rincón de la copla'.
