Tomorrow, Saturday, October 27, the fourth work of this theatrical event will be performed at the 'Pedro Serna' House of Culture of Las Torres de Cotillas

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 27 (8:30 pm), the 'VII National Amateur Theater Competition Juan Baño' of Las Torres de Cotillas closes with its fourth performance.

It will be that of the work 'Baldosas', which will be staged by the group 'Almagra Teatro' (Mula).

A bittersweet comedy that caricatures the real estate market and its people through a persuasive seller, who turns out to be also a victim of the system.

This contest for amateur groups started on Saturday, October 6, with the company 'Expresando' (Madrid), which staged a free version of Molière's 'Tartufo';

the following week, October 13, the company 'Maru-JASP' (Alcalá de Henares) interpreted 'If something can happen, even if it seems improbable, it just happens inevitably';

and on October 20 the 'Cía.

Teatro en Construcción '(Elche) represented the play' Huanita '.

The closing of this theatrical contest for amateur groups from all over Spain will take place on Saturday, November 10, at an evening with free admission in which the prizes will be awarded to the best.

"In addition, our 'Tejuba' will represent the work 'Bajar al moro' as the artistic culmination to the contest," says the councilor for Culture, Pedro Cabrera.

Important prizes

Organized by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the amateur theater Torreño group 'Tejuba', the contest has set a price of 3 euros for the entries of their performances and proposes 2,000 euros in prizes: 1,000 euros and trophy for the best show;

200 euros and trophy for the best actor and actress;

100 euros and trophy for the best address;

and 100 euros and trophy for the best actress and supporting actor.

"We are sure that, as every year, the level of the participating companies will be very high and the public will enjoy the best amateur theater that can be seen today in Spain," says Torreña Mayor Isabel María Zapata.
