Every municipality must offer sufficient capacity to transform, to continue modernizing in a deep and unstoppable way the future of a municipality.
And it is that the reform recipe that a Consistory must apply is the putting in value of all the potentialities that it has at hand in the diverse orders or fields of activity in order to consolidate the development of the productive fabric and the creation of stable employment and of quality in the population.
In short, to continue enabling the living conditions of citizens.
If there is a parameter that covers the whole of this ambitious strategy, it is the axis of sustainability, that positive factor that is conceived as the realistic, responsible and, therefore, rational employment of the set of resources available to a nearby Administration, to street foot and sensitized with the needs of the neighbors as is their town hall.
Instruments for this are respect for natural environments, the preservation of heritage, social awareness, civics, education, ...
The work, the competences, the challenges of a Consistory raison d'être, foundation in the street, in the school, in the neighborhoods, in the districts, ... invigorating a package of transversal actions aimed at penetrating the citizens, from the bottom up and to effectively intervene on the ground to materialize the main challenges of a city in continuous progress.
In the framework of the economic fabric, the educational community, associations, through the collectives that in recent times receive the name of Third Sector must take to the maximum of reality a management focused on sustainable development.
Because designing a strategy at the local level is to meet a global goal equally.
Las Torres de Cotillas is one of the Spanish municipalities integrated in the European Covenant of Mayors initiative and in this line of operation and community solutions, action plans are designed for the promotion and implementation of alternative models of sustainable energy, such as the reduction of CO2 emissions, the gradual reduction of electricity consumption in interior lighting systems (use of LED lights, for example), public and ornamental lighting and water consumption.
Day by day there is no lack of city councils that reinforce this management by promoting new projects implemented either exclusively with the technical and financial backing of the EU, highlighting in this aspect programs for the use of clean energies or, in the case of Torrena, EDUSI "Las Torres Conecta ", that is, the European Strategy for Sustainable and Integral Urban Development structured into four main keys: improving the use and quality of ICT, electronic administration, the development of actions to catalog the city as" Smart City "and of mobile applications and services that allow the participation and interaction between citizens and the City Council, favor the transition to a low carbon economy oriented to the development of sustainable urban mobility and connection with industrial zones, and the promotion of the use of renewable energies in buildings and municipal vehicles, protect the environment and promote resource efficiency, and the
social fusion and fight against poverty, highlighting the project for the creation of a multi-generation intergenerational social center, the implementation of a plan for the social integration of families in vulnerable situations, the regeneration of degraded areas and the improvement of access to employment of disadvantaged groups.
All this contribution of initiatives, in short, is designed to improve the environmental positioning of a municipality by making that space of life in common a more livable, more sustainable place.
We must continue in this bet that requires not taking a step back.
