For the third consecutive year the municipal library 'Rosa Contreras' of Las Torres de Cotillas has been awarded in the national contest 'María Moliner' of projects of animation to reading.
This award, once again granted by the Ministry of Culture, distinguishes those municipal libraries that develop a project with actions to encourage reading, efficiency and library work, social integration in their community, as well as the use of the new technologies.
"The prize, amounting to about 1,700 euros, will go towards the acquisition of a bibliographic collection that will be part of the collection of the library, which is located in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna'", says the councilor for Culture, Pedro Cabrera, who remembers that this contest is held in municipalities of less than 50,000 inhabitants.
"It is a new and important recognition of the great work performed by the professionals of our library, always in coordination with the municipal area of Culture, and for that we send our most heartfelt congratulations", explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
