The 'VII National Competition of Amateur Theater Juan Baño' Las Torres de Cotillas delivered on the night of Saturday November 10 their awards at the House of Culture 'But Serna', which triumphed the work 'Huanita'.
Represented by the company 'Theater in Construction' (Elche), it won the prize for the best show, which was distinguished by a trophy and a cash prize of 1,000 euros.
In addition, he won recognition for best actor (Roberto Rodríguez, for his role as Nemesio) and actress (Laura Orts, for his role as Imelda), both awarded with a trophy and 100 euros.
This event, organized by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the amateur theater Torreño group 'Tejuba', also handed out the awards to the best actor (Sergio Pastor, for his role as Claroscuro in the work 'Baldosas' of the group muleño' Almagra Teatro ') and main actress (Sara Teleña, for her role as Dorina in the play' El Tartufo 'from the Madrid group' Expresando '), rewarded both with a trophy and 200 euros.
Finally, the best address was that of Raquel Alonso, from the theater group 'Maru-JASP' (Alcalá de Henares), for the play 'If something can happen, even if it seems improbable, it just happens inevitably' (trophy and 100 euros).
A consolidated contest
In addition, the closing of this event for amateur theatrical groups from all over Spain was represented by another work, already out of competition: 'Bajar al moro', which was performed by the actors of the local group 'Tejuba'.
"We are very happy and proud of the great level of the works that have been represented in this contest, which has proven to be consolidated in the calendar of Spanish amateur theater," explains the mayoress Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, who presided over the awards ceremony and that he highlighted that "the public really has been able to see one more edition of the best amateur theater in our country".
