"We are not going to sit idly by and we are going to implement specific measures for local and local commerce," says the regional spokesman;
Miguel Sánchez
Citizens today regretted that the PP Government team in Las Torres de Cotillas "has condemned another neighborhood, in this case to Los Vicentes, to oblivion, degradation and marginalization", after rejecting the orange proposal in the last plenary of the shock plan for the reactivation of the zone, "similar to the one we already presented for the El Carmen neighborhood, and which included up to 23 concrete measures".
This was stated by the local spokesperson, Marian Fernández, who visited Los Vicentes this morning with the regional spokesperson, Miguel Sánchez.
Both, accompanied by the councilors of Cs Antonio Sánchez and Rafael Martínez, have interviewed the neighborhood and commercial associations of the area -in which more than 2,000 residents reside-, who have transmitted their concern about the "degradation of the neighborhood and the increase in insecurity, motivated by the rise of drug dealing and the use of flats, in many cases 'squatters', like marijuana plantations. "
Among the measures that Cs wanted to implement was also the reinforcement of social services and a reinforcement of security, as well as specific actions in relation to trade.
Sanchez and Fernandez have stressed that "Citizens will not turn their backs on the needs of the Torreños, regardless of the neighborhood or the district where they reside" and the regional spokesman added that in response to the local blockade of regeneration measures and recovery, "we are working on regional budgets to introduce measures to support our local commerce of proximity, which is what gives life to the neighborhoods.
The merchants have told us that sales are going down, neighbors are concerned about the increase in insecurity and housing degradation, and we are not going to sit idly by. "
