The 'Active' program of Las Torres de Cotillas, which promotes physical activity as a healthy lifestyle, continues to offer service to the residents of the municipality.
"Since last year the entry of participants in this program is monthly, who access after the prescription by primary health care personnel of physical exercise as if it were a medicine," explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who points out that each user benefits from this program for six months and that the group is currently composed of 30 people.
The objective is that the participants can progressively improve their physical condition and learn exercises and activities that they can do autonomously.
Thus, it is specifically intended to reduce the rate of obesity, reduce mortality due to ischemic disease or improve the quality of life of people suffering from blood pressure or diabetes, among other pathologies.
The workshop takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 11 am at the municipal sports facilities.
'Post-Active' Program
In addition, for patients who complete the 'Active' program do not abandon the practice of physical exercise Torreño City has launched the program 'Post-Active', funded with municipal funds.
"Through specialized monitors, we continue offering this exercise to avoid a sedentary lifestyle," says Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
This program is accessed after carrying out the 'Active' program, which is why it is necessary to prescribe the staff of the primary care health center.
"Currently, this program is being followed by 15 people who have finished the 'Activa' this year," says Pérez.
