The Elden writer Pedro Maestre has been chosen by the jury winner of the IX Carmen Montero Medina International Poetry Competition, which presented its prizes on Friday, November 30.
The Alicante, author of several books of narrative, presented the poem entitled 'Poetry' under the pseudonym 'Amazona' and won the prize of 1,000 euros. "To get an idea of ​​the level that has been one more year in this contest we must remember that Maestre was awarded 'Nadal' in 1996, "explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who presided over the event.
In addition, in the category of local author -which premiered in this edition and which delivered 200 euros- the award went to Marisol Núñez, who presented the poem 'Amor científico' with the pseudonym of MN Weiss. The author, a graduate in Sciences from Information, is a Salamanca established in Las Torres de Cotillas for four years.
"Marisol writes poetry early age and every morning we can listen to it on the municipal radio 'Onda 92'", says Zapata.
This contest, whose works were of free theme and written in Castilian, was organized one more year by the 'Carmen Montero Medina' Foundation with the collaboration of the Las Torres de Cotillas City Council.
