More than 1,100 children participated yesterday, Wednesday, December 19, in a new edition of the municipal school cross of Las Torres de Cotillas, which took place on the grounds of La Emisora ​​Park.
The test was divided by age into five categories: benjamin (500 meters), juvenile and infantile (1,000 meters), and cadet and juvenile (2,000 meters).
The participating centers were the schools 'Cervantes', 'San José', 'Park', 'Joaquín Cantero', 'Divino Maestro', 'Susarte' and 'Monte Azahar', the institutes 'Salvador Sandoval' and 'La Florida', and the Professional Training center 'Nuestra Señora de la Salceda'.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, and in it awards were given to the first three classified in each category, divided into male and female.

In addition, the TAFAD students of the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' encouraged the test with different choreographies, which were followed by the attending students with a lot of attention and drive.
"It is very rewarding to see this event, where boys and girls of all ages participate with great enthusiasm, demonstrating some of their great athletic skills," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who has wanted to thank the educational communities of the participating educational centers for the high participation one more year and for their involvement in this sports day in which the General Directorate of Sports, 'Hero', club 'Athletics Las Torres' and the local body of Civil Protection collaborated.
