In the district of San Pedro de Las Torres de Cotillas, in the houses of Los Risos, lives Onofre García, who last December 17 turned 100 years.
An anniversary so marked that Torreño City Council wanted to honor him for entering the club of 'centenarians' of the town.
For that reason, the mayor Isabel María Zapata visited him at his home on December 27 to deliver a commemorative plaque on behalf of all his neighbors in the municipality.
On this visit, Zapata was accompanied by a group of members of the torreña rock 'Rincón Pulpitero', who sang various songs to put the festive note to the appointment.
Of course, on these dates there was no shortage of Christmas carols and 'Happy Birthday'.
"Onofre is well known and loved in Las Torres de Cotillas, a great representative of the local vegetable garden, so much so that it was named 'Huertano del Año'", recalls Zapata.
