A total of 14 companies have presented to build the storm tank of the Las Torres de Cotillas treatment plant.
This work, to which the regional government allocates 4,314,650 euros, also involves the extension of the pretreatment of the treatment plant, which has an additional allocation of 315,294 euros.
The execution period of these actions is 12 months.
Both actions will be fully implemented in the 2019 financial year through the Regional Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Entity (Esamur).
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Angel del Amor, said that "although the core of Las Torres de Cotillas has an independent rainwater collection network, most of it is served by a network of unitary type. "
This situation "causes that during the episodes of rain, the flow of mixed water exceeds the maximum treatment capacity of the treatment plant".
The construction of the storm tank will have a double objective: to collect and store the most loaded water during the rain episodes for its later treatment in the treatment plant, which will minimize the possible discharges to the public channel;
and take advantage of the rolling capacity of the tank to regulate the inlet flow in the treatment plant in dry weather, thus maximizing the treatment capacity of the installation.
