Torreón Mónica Gómez, 11, has been the winner of the new edition of the children's drawing contest organized by the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías of Las Torres de Cotillas to illustrate the poster of the children's procession of Holy Week 2019. This contest was developed yesterday, January 13 during a day of coexistence held at the Center for Young Artists of the town, which had the collaboration of the Department of Culture.
"This edition the small participants had to draw the titular image of the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of the Flagellation, which has been chosen for the poster of this procession that is now three years old", explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who presided the jury of the contest and who personally congratulated Monica, a student at the Divino Maestro school in the municipality.
A parade that grows
The children's procession of Semana Santa Torrena, focused on children under 16 years, has output from the church of Our Lady of Salceda and runs through the streets Mayor, Mula, Campo, Calvillo and Mayor to return to their point of origin.
"This parade is booming every year with large doses of participation and enthusiasm of children who star in an event capable of awakening love for one of the most multitudinous and unique hallmarks of our municipality," explains the president of the Cabildo, Juan José Ruiz.
