"Or it has not been clear something as simple as the drone is assigned to the Civil Protection service, something that we explained in his day and understand it to a child, or what is more serious: act with the evil of wanting to entangle to deceive the neighbors. "
This is how the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Isabel María Zapata, explains about the accusation by the municipal group of citizens that this device will be used to monitor and impose urban fines.
"It was already clearly explained what was going to be used and raise suspicions about this issue is a shameful manipulation of the most obvious truth to find the headline that leads to think badly of the City Council and thus scratch some vote," the councilor points out. he laments the practice of "anything goes" for the Torrena opposition.
"If we were already accustomed to trying to record the achievements of our government team presenting motions on municipal projects that are already underway or about to end, this accusation is already shameful, because the reality is unquestionable," complains Zapata.
Regulated authorizations
"The drones have flight authorizations regulated by the Spanish Air Safety Agency and can not be used for uses other than those accredited", explains the Councilor for Police and Civil Protection, Pedro José Noguera, who points out that the activities authorized for this device in Las Torres de Cotillas there are three: observation and aerial surveillance in forest fires;
emergency operations, search and rescue;
and photography and filming of training operations for new pilots and rescues.
"There are two members of this body who have received the relevant training and license, and are the only ones who can fly this drone," says Noguera.
The purchase of this device is part of an improvement plan for local security bodies.
In this initiative in addition to this flying device for the work of Civil Protection volunteers in the municipality, the incorporation of new vehicles is contemplated: one for this body and two for the Local Police.
