Las Torres de Cotillas is a stronghold of rugby in the Region of Murcia, both for the large number of games played regularly in its municipal facilities and for the great work done by the club Rugby Las Torres in the municipality.
Proof of this is the great contribution made by this entity to the Murcia based teams, as could be seen on Saturday 26 January in the qualifying matches for the Spanish championship of autonomous communities that played the combined sub 16 and sub 18.
"A total of 14 Torreño players played in both teams in their games played in Cáceres against Extremadura", explains Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
"We congratulate these young athletes for these calls and we hope they continue to confirm their good track record on the field," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
