One more year, and three, the Raspajo image of the festivities of Las Torres de Cotillas will be chosen through a drawing contest.
Convened by the Department of Celebrations, is aimed at people over 12 years resident in the municipality.
"The participants must capture the image of our Raspajo, that big cardboard doll that represents a human figure formed by motifs or species of the Murcian huerta", explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who points out that the deadline for submission of works -which must be original and unpublished- concludes on March 11.
The award ceremony to the winner will be held on August 23 during the gala presentation of the festivities in the municipal auditorium Juan Baño: on the one hand, the Commercial Area Las Torres will grant a voucher of 100 euros to spend in the shops of the municipality and , on the other, the City Council will reward with a miniature figure of the Raspajo that with this design the Torreño artisans Pedro Fermín López and Rubén Fernández will elaborate.
"A figure that, at a giant size and like every year, will be placed in the Maestro Don Ángel Palazón esplanade to end the festivities with its burning", points out the Councilor for Celebrations, Amalia Pérez.
