The City of Las Torres de Cotillas has wanted to add to the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the Tagus Segura Transfer that is being carried out this year by the Central Union of Irrigators of the Tajo-Segura Aqueduct (SCRATS).
To this end, on Wednesday, February 20, the official act of placing a commemorative banner in the town hall took place, in which the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, and the president of the SCRATS, Lucas Jiménez, participated.
"The Transfer is an infrastructure that has been providing a basic tool such as water to work in our agricultural areas for 40 years, providing employment, wealth and prosperity," explains Zapata, who stresses "its importance for Las Torres de Cotillas and the Region. of Murcia, so it is essential to work on their promotion and defense ".
The SCRATS has proposed an extensive program of activities to bring the Transfer and its work to the society of Murcia, Almería and Alicante, where you can find concerts, performances for children, dissemination campaigns, etc.
