About 1,500 people have participated this weekend in the two Carnival parades of Las Torres de Cotillas, both organized by the Department of Celebrations and departing from Juan Carlos I Avenue. The adults took place on Saturday March 9, with a tour to the Hermitage of the Cross, and in which more than 800 people participated.
For its part, the children's was held on Sunday morning March 10 and in which some 600 participants, especially boys and girls, have reached the roundabout of Mula Street.
"Both parades, nourished solely with local comparsas, have shown all the imagination, talent and the desire to have a good time that the neighbors of Las Torres de Cotillas have," explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
Cry and chirigotas
Some festivities that took place last Friday, March 8, at the Casa de la Cultura Pedro Serna, which was run by the association Brodguay.
The evening featured the performance of its young members, who showed their talent on stage for the enjoyment of the large audience.
"Every year a local association announces these festivities that are so eagerly awaited in our town and the proclamation of Brodguay was very imaginative, in an act where the local comparsas participating in our parades were also recognized," says the Councilor for Celebrations, Amalia Pérez
The night also had the chirigotero air that they put The Sangochaos of Torrevieja and the Chiriwoman of Caravaca de la Cruz, first and second classified of the second contest of chirigotas of the municipality celebrated the previous night in the same enclosure.
Organized by the Department of Celebrations, this contest meant the opening of these festivities and in it, in addition to the first two (which took 1,000 and 500 euros respectively), three other chirigotas acted: those of the Murcia districts of La Albatalía and Cabezo de Torres, as well as the male from Caravaca.
In addition, to give a special touch to these celebrations has been an express cap route between March 8 and 10, with a cap plus beer or soft drink for 2.50 euros.
