On Monday, April 1, face-to-face voting is being held to choose among the 90 finalist proposals of the 2019 participatory budgets of Las Torres de Cotillas.
After a few days in which it has been possible to vote online, different venues have been set up in the municipality -both in the urban area and in the districts- to vote for today in this process that has a municipal departure 350,000 euros to develop the proposals that are chosen.
Throughout the morning the points enabled have been the Health Center, the Home for the Elderly, the House of Culture Pedro Serna, the City Council, the Sports Center, the IES Salvador Sandoval and La Florida, the Center for Young Artists and the multipurpose center of Los Pulpites.
From 17 to 19 hours the points in operation will be the House of Culture Pedro Serna, the City Council, the Sports Center, the neighborhood center of La Florida, La Loma and the Carmen neighborhood, the Casa Rosa de la Media Legua, the Unitarian School of San Pedro and the Center for Young Artists.
Departure of 350,000 euros
After the process of presenting popular proposals and prioritization, finally the municipal technicians evaluated their viability and valued their cost to carry out this last phase.
With these votes the residents of the municipality will be able to decide the destiny of that game of 350,000 euros destined to this project that began last January 31st and that is open to all the population over 16 years old.
For this they will have to select five of the 60 proposals made in the section of financially sustainable investments and five among the 30 proposals related to activities and programs.
These funds will be distributed as follows: two items of at least 10,000 euros for both the area of ​​women and equality for the elderly, another of a minimum of 15,000 euros for the area of ​​people with diversity and another more than 30,000 euros at least for districts.
In addition, a maximum of 285,000 euros of free designation will be allocated.
The municipal objective is to continue promoting citizen participation to improve the quality of decision-making at the local level, as well as increasing the citizens' knowledge of these processes, developing a more effective and inclusive municipal budget.
In addition, this project -which has the supervision of the research team of the University of Murcia- intends to integrate the participation of specific, more vulnerable sectors of the population.
