Today, April 2 is the World Day of Autism Awareness set by the United Nations Organization (UN) and to commemorate the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas held an act yesterday.
Celebrated by the Puro Corazón association in collaboration with the Torreño City Council, it took place in Adolfo Suárez Square and was attended by dozens of people.
A meeting that was also attended by the mayor of Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, the coordinator of Mental Health Employment Programs of the Murcian Health Service (SMS), José Antonio Peñalver, the president and the coordinator of FEAFES, Delia Topman and Rosa Garrigós , and the president of Puro Corazón, María Ángeles Suárez.
Thus, in the late afternoon and after the presentation of Suarez and some words of Zapata, Peñalver read a manifesto and the act was closed with a musical performance.
This initiative sought to highlight the need to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of people with autism, so that they can lead a full and rewarding life as an integral part of society.
