A total of 1,491 residents in Las Torres participated, both face-to-face and online, in the final vote of the participatory budgeting process, from which 23 proposals were selected, to which a municipal budget of 350,000 euros will be assigned.
One of the objectives of this process was to elaborate a more inclusive municipal budget, integrating the participation of certain specific sectors that traditionally do not participate in public affairs, such as the inhabitants of the districts, women, the elderly and people with diversity. functional, which meant that a series of guaranteed minimum quotas were considered for these sectors in order to motivate them and include them in the process.
This process, open to all the population over 16 years old, concluded with face-to-face voting in different venues in the town, which took place on April 1 with the participation of 9'1% of the population entitled to vote.
This concluded a process that began with the presentation of popular proposals, which were divided into two sections, one of financially sustainable investments and the granting of activities and programs.
Subsequently, a prioritization session was held and then the municipal technicians evaluated its feasibility and valued its cost to face the last step.
