The House of Culture Pedro Serna of Las Torres de Cotillas has been the setting chosen to commemorate the international day of the gypsy town, in an act attended by Mayor Isabel María Zapata as guest.
A day designed to promote knowledge of the Roma community and combat stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination.
The event began with the presentation by Zapata and Moisés Moreno, social educator of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, and then a manifesto was read.
After the applause of the audience gathered to this text, the gypsy international hymn "Gelem Gelem" has been heard and an offering has been celebrated with a candle lighting and a large family photo.
The culmination of this proposal has been the artistic performance of Rocío Moreno.
