The women's team of the La Salceda petanque club of Las Torres de Cotillas, formed by Dolores García, María Isabel Bosque and Encarni Alcolea, has been proclaimed regional champion after beating the representatives of Yecla in the final.
In this tournament played in Santomera last Sunday, April 14, a total of 16 teams participated, formed by two players plus one substitute.
With this victory the torreñas have won the ticket for the national championship that will be played in the Cantabrian town of Camargo between the next 17 and 19 May.
It was an intense day of competition, which began in the first hour and in which the champions had to face seven games in total to hang regional gold.
"We finished late in the afternoon, but it was worth it," the players point out.
This women's team is a regular of the first places in the championships that it disputes.
Not in vain, the Torreño club has in its showcases a large number of regional and national trophies won by its players.
