The City of Las Torres de Cotillas presented a few days ago to its staff the III Plan of Equality of Opportunities between Women and Men 2019-2022 of the town.
A plan that has been developed through the municipal area of ​​Equality and that will be supervised by the working group constituted for that purpose.
This initiative follows the ethical, social, political and legal commitment of the Torreño City Council to guarantee the right to equal opportunities between women and men, as well as guarantee the elimination of any violence against and against women.
A plan in which they must participate and work committed City Council, associations, organizations, institutions and other groups, as well as citizenship, so that women and men have the quality of life they deserve and real equality is an effective reality.
the beginning
Before starting the work for the development of the third edition of this plan, a working group was formed, dependent on the Department of Equality, which established the bases for the planning of actions and structured the methodology of work developed, which has been participatory .
The first work carried out was the evaluation of the previous municipal plan, which, together with the diagnosis of the situation regarding equality, served as the basis for determining the measures and objectives of the new one.
Finally, two awareness-raising seminars on equality were held, which allowed for the opinion of the assistants in the matter, highly useful information as a qualitative data for the diagnosis.
