The relationship of Las Torres de Cotillas with its 'sister' Firminy (France) is still going strong.
The ten years of relationship between both municipalities have forged a solid relationship, which these days lives a new chapter.
And is that the football team veterans of the Gallic town is visiting Torreño floor, both to know the town Torreño and to enjoy their sport.
The Gauls, who are going back to their country next Friday, were received Monday, April 22 at the City Council by the mayor of Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, and the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Cabrera.
A reception that ended with a gift exchange and the traditional family photo.
Many years of relationship
Firminy, a town located in the Rhône-Alpes region with nearly 20,000 inhabitants, began its relationship with Las Torres de Cotillas 10 years ago thanks to a school exchange program.
Since the beginning of this initiative, framed in the European project 'Comenius', about 600 students of the 'Lycée Albert Camus' and the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' have participated.
The last one took place in February, with the visit of the French to Spanish lands, and in April, when the Torrenos were in Gallic lands.
Some exchanges that have served so that young people learn languages, know new places and encourage friendships that in many cases have become unbreakable.
