IU has filed a complaint with the Civil Guard to the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, the popular Isabel María Zapata, to prevent the celebration of a campaign event of Podemos Podemos in the Cervantes school for which they had the authorization of the Board Electoral Zone (JEZ).
The formation of lefts requested a room of the mentioned educational center to carry out an electoral act in the afternoon of the past 22 April that was granted to him by virtue of the article 20 of the Organic Law of General Electoral Regime (LOREG).
However, when the time of the event arrived, "the premises were closed", so the coordinator of Izquierda Unida in that municipality, Miguel Ángel García, immediately called the Local Police to proceed with its opening, according to the text of the complaint.
The agent who took the phone said he had no knowledge of the celebration of the act and said he would transfer it to his superior to call the mayor and the councilor in charge.
"Ninety minutes later (at 9:00 p.m.) of the requested opening time, that agent called, communicating, without further argument, that the municipal government had decided not to open the premises assigned by the JEZ, thus preventing the celebration of the campaign event."
Garcia noted that the argument of the mayor not to be aware of the authorization is not upheld because in this document it is explicit that both the Government Delegation and the City Council will be informed of the approval of the reservation of the premises.
Finally, the act -in which they intervened candidate number 3 of Change the Region of Murcia to the Assembly, José Daniel Espejo;
the candidate for mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas for Changing the Towers, Ginés Fernández;
the councilman and spokesman of that formation, Cristóbal Vicente, and also the edil Sandra Fernández, was celebrated in the door of the school.
